If All Of Real Estate Is Local, Why Do We Get Out News From The National Media?
A lot of us get our real estate news from the national media. The headlines may be positive (“Strongest Home Sales In 4 Years”) or negative (“Help! Every Home On My Block Is For Sale!”).
Regardless of the message, though, it’s important to recognize that real estate is a local business.
It’s impossible to paint a national picture for a neighborhood circumstance.
If you need proof, just think about your own neighborhood.
Would you describe your block as having the same character and appeal as the block around the corner? What about the neighborhood a few miles down the road?
Of course you wouldn’t.
And yet, that’s what news programs are doing when they report on the health of the real estate market.
A better source for information about your local real estate market is a local real estate agent that is knee-deep in your market every single day.
If you want to talk with a local agent and I fit the bill, just reach out to me anytime. If I don’t fit the “local” bill, call me anyway; I would be happy to make a qualified referral for you.
